Day Eleven - Why Worry When You Can Pray
There’s a little song my wife used to teach the children when they were growing up and it goes something like this, “Why worry when you can pray, trust Jesus, He’ll be your
way. Don’t be a doubting Thomas but lean upon His promise. Why worry, worry, worry, worry, when you can pray.” But in today’s life, worry seems to be a fact of life that is hard to escape. Many times worry has even replaced Jesus. We worry ourselves sick instead of putting it in God’s hands. In the scripture below, The Apostle Paul lets us know that there is a solution to worry and it’s PRAYER!
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Here are some scriptures to lift you up and remind you not to worry:
Please Read: Isaiah 41:10-13, Jeremiah 29:11-13, Proverbs 3:1-6
As you go about your day and during this season of consecration, capture every worried thought and give it to the Lord in prayer. When your mind goes to worry, start trusting in
God. Ask Jesus to give you peace that surpasses all understanding. Place your confidence in Him because He already knows the beginning to the end so why
worry; it’s in His hands.
What are some things you constantly worry about? Write them down and pray.
Expect great things to happen by replacing worry with prayer!
