Day Nineteen – In Everything Give Him Thanks

Once in a while, we take our grandson, Joel, on a little weekend to have fun. When we get to the hotel, he spreads out on the bed and says, “This is the life!” It reminds me that sometimes life is great. Everything is going great and you are enjoying life to the fullest. At those times, it’s easy to say, “Thank you Jesus. You are so awesome! Thank you for this wonderful life - All my bills are paid. I have a nice house and car, with plenty of money in the bank. I have a great job with benefits. My wife and kids are wonderful, so, what more can I ask for?” When life is good, it is important to realize just who has provided you with this great life and all of those blessings. Never take it for granted. This means you expect something without never saying, “thanks.”

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ for you.”

Unfortunately, life has its ups and downs. Broken relationships, sickness, trials, financial burdens and even death may come to hit us hard and knock us to the ground but the scripture says, “In everything give Him thanks.” Thank God in all situations - the good times and the bad times. Even in the darkest moments, you can still keep a spirit of hope because you know God is still with you and loves you so much.

Here are just a few of the hundreds of scriptures in the Bible on giving thanks unto God. Please Read: Psalm 92:1-2, Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 1 Chronicles 16:34
We serve a great and mighty King. Today, don’t lose sight of His greatness. When we realize just how great He is, our attitude to life changes and we will overflow with thanksgiving for the glory and beauty that God reveals in our daily lives.

If you were to list all the many blessings from the Lord, it would take an eternity to Thank Him. Express your gratitude to the Lord.

Look back over your life and give God thanks – then have great expectations for your future!

Day Eighteen - Being Transformed

Like a butterfly breaks free of its cocoon, transformed into something beautiful, so will I break free and I will fly. ~Laurel DeMoss

To be transformed means: to undergo a change in form, appearance or character; become transformed.

It is not easy for a caterpillar to become a beautiful butterfly. It takes time, patience and it’s a struggle. When you commit yourself to God, he wants to make you into something beautiful. Gradually, day by day, God’s spirit living inside of you works in your heart to change you. In the word of God you will find numerous examples of men and women who had unimportant lives but yet they were transformed and used greatly by God.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.

The quality of life is all up to you. How much do you want to be transformed? Move forward to your goal of being transformed into being “Christ-like” in every area of your life: Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational, Financial and Occupational. Instead of crawling on the ground and squirming around, you can now break out of your cocoon and be free!

Here are some scriptures on transformation:

Please Read: Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 36:26, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Today, be renewed by giving your life, habits, thoughts, and words over to Jesus. Read the word. A transformation will take place into His image.

Since you have become a new person in Christ, what are some ways you have been transformed? Write them down.

Expect to be transformed – blessed, prosperous and victorious!

Day Seventeen - The Prayer of Repentance

Take a moment to think about the things that come between you and God. Let’s face it, we all have sin in our lives that we need to repent and turn away from. A well-known Psalm put it beautifully. Read and meditate on this chapter which is known as. . . “A Prayer of Repentance.” - Psalm 51 (NKJV)

True repentance is always followed by God’s loving forgiveness. It is also a bridge to God. Only you and God knows your heart.

Here are some scriptures on repentance:

Please Read: Acts 3:19, 1John 1:9, Luke 13:3, Ezekiel 18:21-23

Now is the time to search our hearts, hiding nothing from God. He sees everything anyway. Always remember, there is no darkness too deep for our Lord. He suffered death on a
cross. He paid it all for our darkest sins to be forgiven and to set us free.

Have you repented from the sins in your life and turned away from them? Instead of writing them down, confess your sins to the God and then spend time in prayer. This is only between you and God.

Pray with a heart of expectancy!
