Day Sixteen – Great Expectations for Your Future

My sweetheart loves to plan events. At the end of the year, during our Christmas and New Year’s Eve services, she spent weeks getting it all together! She was so excited, making the plans and making sure everything was perfect. It was hard to figure out who took more pleasure in the event – the church members or First Lady June. My point is… God also takes great pleasure in planning our futures. He wants everything to be perfect for the people who love and serve him. We need to believe that our futures will be beautiful through Jesus Christ!

Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

In the Bible, God repeatedly shows care and a great love for his people. He knows all of us by name and has a perfect plan – to give us everlasting joy in our lives and future.

Proverbs 16:9 - The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

God has a plan for you, for your loved ones, for everyone who loves Him. Sometimes, you may go through hard times but be assured that your life and future are in God’s hands.

Here are some scriptures to help you build your future. Please Read: Isaiah 40:31, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, & Matthew 6:31-34

Today, thank the Lord for the abundant life that He has made possible for you. What are some things you are asking God to make possible for your future? Write it down, believe and spend time in prayer.

Expect God to give you a wonderful future!

Day Fifteen – Fasting that Pleases God

God speaks loudly and directly concerning how we should fast. Please read the following passage of scriptures in its entirety. God exposes the shallow worship of His people but has a great reward for those who fast according to what He has chosen. The bonds will be broken, the heavy burdens lifted, the oppressed set free and every yoke shall be broken!! Our God is so amazing!!

ISAIAH 58:6-12 6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

God’s word is very clear about how he wants us to fast. He desires for us to reach out to others – the lonely, the oppressed, and the lost souls. We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus, having a great compassion as He did.

Today, ask God to open your eyes to who He wants you to bless today. Write down as many people as you can think of who need the Lord. Pray for them and reach out to them with love.

Expect great things to happen, when pleasing God.

Day Fourteen – Waking Up Your Soul

How many of you love waking up in the morning? For most of us, one of the hardest things in life is to wake up and get out of bed. We want to roll over, hit the snooze button and go back to sleep. Experts say not to hit the snooze button and it’s easier to just get up. So today, I say, “WAKE UP” because I would like to share a word about, Waking up Your Soul.’

There are many people who need to “Wake Up” from their lack of interest, their hopelessness and their helplessness. They forget that, in the midst of all of their problems, it is most important or should I say, imperative that their lives be grounded on their faith in Jesus Christ.

How awesome that Jesus’ words written about 2000 years ago, are now for us today!

John 11:11 “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

Our soul longs for intimacy with God but so often we settle for substitutes such as: relationships, work, life’s distractions, entertainment and more. If we want to grow our Spiritual lives, we need to awaken our souls. Don’t just say you want a relationship with God, do something about it! We need to have a relationship that is real not a façade. Listen and respond to God’s spirit as he speaks to your soul. Break out of worn-out routines to encounter God in a new and fresh way.

Just as Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, so will He raise you from your spiritual slumber and put a deep desire in your soul to live a life of victory, joy and success in His service!

Here are some scriptures to help awaken your soul:

Please Read: Galatians 5:25, Galatians 5:16, Ephesians 5:14

Today, wake up to the abundance of life burning deep in your soul that has been made possible to you through Jesus Christ! Worship Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life and commit yourself to living according to His ways. Awaken your soul!

Compose a letter in a form of a prayer, asking God to awaken your soul.

Expect great and mighty things to happen when you awaken your Soul.
